Everton points deduction: Nottingham Forest face nervous wait as new case prepared

After their hearing, Nottingham Forest is awaiting a decision that could impact Everton’s season.

Nottingham Forest will have to wait anxiously for clarifications after the club’s hearing about a suspected

violation of Premier League spending regulations.

Last week, the club presented its defense to an impartial panel over the course of a two-day hearing.

With Forest dividing Everton and Luton Town, the team at the top of the bottom three, the result will

have a big effect on the lower half of the table. Everton will be paying close attention to this weekend’s

match between Forest and Luton.

The Blues’ second case is expected to be heard this month with both Forest and Everton due to receive

their verdicts no later than April 8. In the event of a breach being upheld, the Everton case already heard

suggested a points penalty would be the starting point

Everton will really need to pay attention to Forest’s first line of defense going into the club hearing. The

choice to hold off on selling Brennan Johnson in order to receive a higher price was anticipated to be one

of the Midlands side’s mitigating factors. It was expected that the team would present this as a smart

financial decision. Forest claims that by selling him to Tottenham Hotspur on the summer transfer

window, they collected over £20 million more than what Brentford had offered them weeks before. They
