West Brom striker ‘might as well tear up contract’ after scenes v Sheffield Wednesday.

Following a successful winter transfer window, West Brom currently has an abundance of good striker options.

Tony Mowbray now has fantastic options after adding Will Lankshear and Adam Armstrong late in the transfer window. This combination will provide good competition for the Baggies’ current striker options, who are now on the treatment table. Daryl Dike and Josh Maja are on their path to recovery at The Hawthorns, and their comeback might spell the end for another ace.

Devante Cole could leave West Brom after injury returns

Carlos Coberanin signed Devante Cole in the summer, believing the free agent would be a valuable addition to the squad’s depth. The 29-year-old has made just 16 Albion outings and is yet to make a Championship start. However, when Dike and Maja return, the Englishman’s opportunities for minutes will be reduced or eliminated totally. This combination will be forced to compete with the two winter loanees as is, which will be a difficult assignment. Armstrong has already scored in B71, while Lankshear made a good impression on his debut, so it will be intriguing to see how the lineup evolves when injured stars return.

Unfortunately for Cole, when this occurs, his spot on the bench will most likely be snatched, potentially ending his tenure in the Black Country. As a result, it may be advisable to terminate his contract during the season or in the summer to allow him to find a new team.

Even without the injured players at The Hawthorns, the new signings were preferred in the starting lineup and on the bench. Isaac Price started at number ten alongside Armstrong before being replaced by the Spurs loanee.

Devante Cole

Cole was left on the bench as Mikey Johnston, Tom Fellows, Jed Wallace, and Ousmane Diakate came on, despite Mowbray’s side looking for a late winner. This concludes the ex-Barnsley man’s stint in the West Midlands, which could be cut short if the current pattern of warming the bench continues.
