Rangers are already considering a young manager’s move to Ibrox to replace Philippe Clement.

Rangers already eyeing Ibrox move for young manager after Philippe Clement

He’s familiar with the club.

According to a recent update, a promising young manager has already been chosen as the next best option for managing Rangers, following Philippe Clement.

Having success as Rangers manager, Philippe Clement

The Gers are currently enjoying a very successful season, although it was dismal at the beginning of the season when Michael Beale’s disastrous rule was in full force. But since Clement took over as the Englishman’s Ibrox manager back in October, things have gone better for them, and they now have a chance to win several titles.

Philippe Clement’s managerial career Matches Points per game
Rangers 31 2.55
Monaco 73 1.73
Club Brugge 127 1.96
Genk 82 1.96
Waasland-Beveren 22 1.41

They are still in the Scottish Cup and lead Celtic by two points at the top of the Scottish Premiership. They have previously won the Scottish League Cup, defeating Aberdeen 1-0 in the championship match. In the Europa League, there’s also the possibility of progressing further, as they drew 2-2 in Portugal last week and face Benfica at Ibrox on Thursday for their second leg in the round of 16.

Everything about this shows how good Clement is performing, and the fact that he has a contract with the Rangers through the summer of 2027 implies that he won’t be leaving anytime soon. Nevertheless, it appears that potential long-term planning for his replacement is already in place.

Rangers may have someone lined up to replace Philippe Clement.

As per the latest report from Football Insider, Steven Naismith is being contemplated as a potential future manager of the Rangers and might eventually take over for Clement at Ibrox.

Having “attracted interest from several clubs,” the 37-year-old is allegedly “admired in Scotland and is considered a future Rangers manager.” He played for the Gers for five memorable years during which he won three league championships, two league cups, and one Scottish Cup.

Naturally, the Rangers are pleased with Clement, but they “see Naismith as a future manager once he gains more experience.”

As of right now, Naismith is an outstanding young manager who has led Hearts to third place in the Scottish Premiership standings. He took over the team back in September and has produced amazing results. His recent masterminding of a 2-0 victory over Celtic at home gave Rangers a significant advantage in the title fight.

Scott Wright, who believed that a training camp overseas had been beneficial earlier in the year, has praised Clement, therefore it would be shocking if Ibrox’s upper management were thinking of getting rid of the Belgian anytime soon.

“We have really enjoyed our break in La Manga. To be honest, it was vitally important to us. He’s been able to put more of his ideas and some of his style into practice, and you can see it on the field—the things he wished to alter.”

With his Ibrox ties means he already knows the team intimately from his playing days, Naismith has every right to be taken into consideration as a potential Clement replacement if he keeps up his impressive management career.
