John Eustace admitted Blackburn Rovers were ‘hard done to’ by critical rulings, but was dissatisfied with the nature of their first concession against Wolves.
Rovers defeated 2-0 at Ewood Park thanks to two fast goals in 60 seconds. After competing well for half an hour, they faced a mountain to climb until Joao Gomes and Matheus Cunha struck.
The first especially irritated the head coach. It was a terrible giveaway, and Balazs Toth should have stopped the shot from Gomes.
Prior to it, Rovers had a goal controversially disallowed for offside, and Augustus Kargbo’s penalty claim was knocked down.
“It’s definitely onside, we’ve seen it back,” Eustace remarked about Dom Hyam’s header, which would have put Rovers ahead.
“I felt we had a few of rulings, including a penalty, that went against us. For the first half hour, we struggle a little. It is in the nature of football that decisions are not always made.

Eustace made debuts for Kargbo, Emmanuel Dennis, and Yuri Riberio at left back. Cauley Woodrow came on in the second half as well.
“The most pleasing thing about the game is getting vital minutes into four or five players who needed it,” Eustace told reporters.
“We were competitive and accomplished that, which was a big advantage. I think AK did quite well in his debut start on the left against Premier League defenders.
“I think we worked the left side well, particularly with Yuri backing him up on his debut. I was satisfied with the performances.”
