Harry Kane bizarrely asked to ‘skip Celtic’ as Vincent Kompany sets reporter straight over Paradise enormity

Harry Kane, a Bayern Munich great, was approached to advise Celtic ahead of the Bundesliga title game.

The England football icon was asked on an international broadcast aired by Sky Sports if he could put Xabi Alonso’s championship contenders first, two days before a crucial Champions League duel at Celtic Park. Kane was interviewed following Bayern’s 3-0 victory over Werder Bremen, in which he assisted himself on two penalty goals. A reporter enquired: “If you allow us to bypass the game in Glasgow, our next match will be against Bayer Leverkusen. You did not win the last ones against them. “What needs to change?”

But giving Celtic scant attention appears to be a non-starter for Kane, who hyped up the upcoming trip to Glasgow on the same night he passed Alan Shearer for a ninth season of scoring 20 or more league goals. Prior to the match against Brendan Rodgers’ side, he said on social media: “Getting the job done!” Another solid win at home. “Roll on Wednesday.”

Inside the Allianz Arena, disgruntled fans protested kick-off hours and chanted’s***** DFL’ while holding a sign that read: “Werder Bremen: Friday in Munich – Friday in Freiburg.” DFL: Enemies of the fans—enough is enough! Keep to the 300-kilometer rule on Friday!”

In response to a question about “bigger games” against Celtic and Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany emphasised that every game is significant in Munich. He remarked, “You started so nicely by stating ‘every game is a major game’, so you’ve effectively given the answer. If you make too many distinctions, I doubt you’ll win as much as we have.

“I believe you should always strive to improve yourself. But I believe that is consistent throughout the season. We look forward to playing against our opponents. It is a team looking for significant challenges, and it is an excellent opportunity.”
