Following a productive January transfer window, John Eustace and Blackburn Rovers are hoping to finish in the Championship’s top six.
The 45-year-old had a rough start at Ewood Park, where he guided the club’s survival from relegation to League One last season.
A 19th-place finish secured their place in the second tier, and the team has progressed under his leadership in the weeks and months afterward.
He has done an excellent job at Ewood Park since his arrival, with his team presently lying fifth in the Championship despite losing their most crucial player, Sammie Szmodics, and bringing in largely loan players and free transfers throughout the summer.
Rovers added midfielder Augustus Kargbo and former Nottingham Forest defender Yuri Ribeiro from Cesena and Benfica, respectively, before signing forwards Cauley Woodrow and Emmanuel Dennis shortly after the winter window closed.

The Blackburn Rovers verdict on the January transfer window
We questioned FLW’s Blackburn commentator Simon Middlehurst if the Venky’s adequately supported Eustace in January, despite their court difficulties in India regarding funding the team.
He stated, “I believe there is a lot of fan pressure now, especially in the recent January transfer windows.”
Blackburn’s recent failed transfers include Duncan McGuire from Orlando and Lewis O’Brien from Nottingham Forest.
“So, I believe they needed to do this right. They needed to get this properly for the benefit of the supporters.
“They had to have it done right. So, I’d like to believe that, sure, they have supported them. Could they have done more?
“There is always a desire for more in football.” There is always the possibility that you will need it, as well as the desire for players and clubs to do more.
“I think they’ve done enough with what they can do, but ideally, you would always like them to do a bit more.”
Blackburn Rovers could kick on further with Eustace in charge
Eustace has stabilised Blackburn, aiming for a top six finish in the Championship. However, the board needs to support him more regularly, as progress was slowed in January due to delayed business.
However, they appear to have resolved a big issue for the team this term. Eustace’s team has struggled to score goals this season, with only 35 league strikes, the lowest among top half Championship teams.
Their excellent backline has compensated for their troubles in front of goal, but it cannot be relied on alone for a top-six finish, especially with competition so tough in the play-offs.
