Ex-Sunderland loanee Amad Diallo fuels Manchester United exit speculation with social media move

Amad Diallo, an ex-Sunderland loanee, has fueled Manchester United leave rumors on social media.

Amad Diallo has made some adjustments to his social media profiles, which has once again sparked controversy.

The former Sunderland loanee was the subject of transfer rumors again in January, with a possible loan move discussed during the winter window.

However, Manchester United decided to keep Amad at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag in order to give the offensive midfielder additional first-team opportunities. However, Amad has only played 27 minutes since January, and the player is allegedly disgruntled.

Rumours and conjecture circulated on social media that Amad was scheduled to meet with ten Hag over the forward’s lack of opportunity at the Premier League giants. In an unusual move, however, Amad has erased all reference of Manchester United from his Instagram account, reigniting speculation that the player is dissatisfied with his development.

Amad had a successful loan stay with Sunderland in the Championship last season, helping Tony Mowbray’s team reach the play-offs. The Black Cats wanted the player to return last summer, but a knee injury complicated matters.

Mowbray and Amad had a tight friendship while on Wearside; however, the former has since been fired and is currently manager of Birmingham City while getting treatment for a health condition.

The Black Cats, along with Leeds United, Middlesbrough, and Leicester City, were said to be interested in Amad in January when he returned to health following his injury last summer. However, United retained Amad after paying Italian side Atalanta a reported sum of £19 million, which may rise to £37 million in 2020.
