Sheffield Wednesday star waits on specialist after injury concern

Sheffield Wednesday captain, Barry Bannan, is waiting to find out the extent of a knock that he picked up recently.

The Owls captain has been virtually constant for the club this season, missing only one game – against Preston North End – and playing a significant role in what has been a very remarkable campaign thus far.

Bannan played the entire 90 minutes in Wednesday’s game against Luton Town after two assists in the previous two, but The Star was made aware this week of an injury that could sideline him – however, there has been no word on his condition.
What this means for the Owls’ game against West Bromwich Albion this weekend is unclear, since Danny Röhl made no mention of the Owls’ number 10 in his pre-match news conference, but he did indicate there were’maybe some question marks’ in terms of availability.

Fans and Röhl alike will be hoping for good news on the Wednesday talisman, given how crucial he is to the Hillsborough system, and many will be looking forward to seeing if his name appears on the teamsheet for Saturday’s encounter.
Dominic Iorfa and Akin Famewo remain out, while Anthony Musaba and Ibrahim Cissoko are questionable for the match against the Hawthorns. Nathaniel Chalobah may be making his comeback to action after a brief absence.
