Hasan Arat, chairman of Besiktas, has disclosed information regarding Joe Worrall’s move from Nottingham Forest.
Worrall is now a member of the Turkish powerhouses on a season-long loan from the Reds, with Besiktas having the option to make the move permanent in the summer. Worrall made his Super Lig debut on February 12 against Kayserispor, and he has only played once for his new team thus far.Speaking during the inaugural 2024 council board meeting of the club.
Arat disclosed the sum that Besiktas had to pay to secure Worrall’s loan from Forest and mentioned that a different Turkish team was interested in signing the center defender.”We brought in Joe Worrall to play center back. It’s a loan of 500,000 euros,” he stated. “A large Turkish club sent their club a guarantee of 4.5 million euros, but Joe Worrall desired to visit us.”
It seems unlikely that Besiktas will permanently transfer Worrall’s loan. Although it was previously claimed that they were eager to sign the defender on a permanent basis last month, it has since been revealed that he will return to the City Ground this summer when his loan expires.
