Despite earlier concerns about a ban, Celtic fans will be able to travel to Germany for the second leg of the Champions League play-off against Bayern Munich.
The club had advised fans to postpone travel plans after UEFA probed the usage of fireworks in their last group-stage match against Aston Villa. Instead of banning the travelling supporters, UEFA fined Celtic £8,000.
While Celtic have more than enough money to cover such a little fine, it adds to the amount of money the club has paid out over the last decade.
Brendan Rodgers will be thrilled with the decision, as a robust Celtic support in the Allianz Arena might be crucial in what is expected to be a tough test against the Bundesliga heavyweights.
The first leg takes place this Wednesday at Celtic Park, with the return match scheduled for a week later in Germany. With the tournament now in the last round, the Hoops will be hoping that their fans can spark another memorable European night.
A Game of Hope and Expectations
Celtic qualified for the knockout phase on merit, thanks to a spectacular home victory over RB Leipzig. However, their European campaign has not been without its challenges, most notably a 7-1 defeat against Borussia Dortmund.
Going into this match, fans will have more hope than expectation. Bayern Munich are the clear favourites, but sport has a history of surprising us. On any given day, if everything comes into place, you never know—Celtic has upset the odds before, and they will try again.
