Rangers star’s Ibrox days are surely numbered after Philippe Clement injury update

Following Philippe Clement’s injury report, the Rangers star’s time at Ibrox is almost certainly over.

Philippe Clement has verified Ryan. Jack sustained an injury during Rangers’ midweek meeting with Benfica while updating the press on Dujon Sterling and Ross McCausland.

The Rangers manager spoke following the club’s Scottish Cup triumph over Hibs, when goals from John Lundstram and Fabio Silva sealed the points.

The match was marred by injuries, including Dujon Sterling’s substitution for Ross McCausland in the first half and his own substitution in the second.

The Rangers manager was also asked about Ryan Jack’s recent injury, which has hampered his chances of a new deal.

Dujon Sterling and Ross McCausland update

Rangers manager Clement began with the same lineup that gained a 2-2 draw against Benfica in Lisbon.

Rangers are now facing challenges with Dujon Sterling and Ross McCausland, while teenage attacker Zak Lovelace has been ruled out for two months.

“I knew I was going to make a lot of changes during the game,” Clement remarked. “I’m obviously disappointed that Dujon (Sterling) and Ross (McCausland) had to withdraw.

“We keep continuing down that road, and we need to find answers. But the good news is that everyone in the team is involved in this way, and everyone works hard to complete the assignment on time.

“(Just like) what they’ve done in the past few months. Every player on the squad has been vital in that regard, and that has been our strength, therefore we will continue in that manner.”

When asked subsequently about both players, I said, “I am not a doctor.” It’s a shame sometimes this season. But we have a really good one who is quite straightforward about his evaluation. So I can’t say anything right now, and he can’t either, so we’ll investigate them over the next two days to see what’s going on.”
