7 teams the Lions must outbid for L’Jarius Sneed as his market heats up

Until proven otherwise, Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is available, and the Lions will need to offer more than these seven clubs to acquire him.

The Kansas City Chiefs slapped cornerback L’Jarius Sneed with the franchise tag before the March 5 deadline, as was predicted. Given that he has the non-exclusive franchise tag and that a tag and trade scenario is underway, it is also very obvious that he is available. Sneed is available, as evidenced by Kansas City’s recent history of not offering cornerbacks large salaries.

Of course, the Chiefs can simply match an offer made to Sneed under the non-exclusive tag. They are also free to decline any trade proposals that are made. In 2024, they could simply keep Sneed for $19.8 million and move forward.

The Chiefs appear to be interested in Sneed based on the signing of defensive tackle Chris Jones to a big deal before to the start of free agency. The Lions are reportedly interested in him, according to two different recent sources, which makes sense considering their need for a reliable No. 1 cornerback.

It’s also not shocking that Sneed is attracting interest from so many teams.
