West Brom Takeover’s Effect On Mikey Johnston Move

In order to secure Mikey Johnston’s permanent signing in the summer, new owner Shilen Patel has the support of former West Brom midfielder Carlton Palmer.

With his newfound financial support, Patel’s £60 million ownership of the West Midlands team in February may have an impact on Johnston’s future at West Brom.

Palmer and West Brom supporters have been impressed with him since his loan arrival in January.

“He’s become a fan favorite,” Palmer stated (Football League World). “Hopefully in the summer the manager will be afforded funds to bring in players

to ensure West Brom can be in and around the automatic promotion places next season, should they not go up this season.” Palmer was speaking of Football League World.

“And Johnston is one of those players that the supporters would definitely like to see at the football club.”

It might be challenging for Patel and West Brom to secure Johnston long-term without a summer buyout option.

It is unlikely that West Brom would sign Johnston permanently in the summer as there are other suitors for the Irish winger, and there’s also a chance that Celtic will try to bring him back for the preseason.
