“If I could”: Jose Mourinho hints at management return as he’s spotted meeting with Newcastle chairman

The Special One has been out of work since being sacked by Roma.

Jose Mourinho has expressed a desire to return to football management as soon as possible, as he was spotted meeting to Newcastle United’s chairman at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Since his firing by Italian team Roma in mid-January, Mourinho has been unemployed, and rumours about his potential future managerial gig have been circulating.

With victories in the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan, as well as trophies with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Roma, the 61-year-old has had a spectacular career in the dugout.

Before hanging up his coach’s cleats, the Portuguese, who is among the best football coaches of the contemporary period, will undoubtedly have many more gigs.

Over the course of the weekend, Mourinho was in Saudi Arabia and witnessed Anthony Joshua defeat Francis Ngannou in boxing.

Additionally, he made an appearance on the grid of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which was won by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and takes place in the streets of Jeddah.

In fact, during a quick encounter on the grid, the Special One was seen shaking hands with Newcastle chairman Yasir al-Rumayyan.

Mourinho has previously expressed his wish to operate in Saudi Arabia at some point, given the growth of the Saudi Pro League in the last 18 months and the large financial incentives that have drawn players from Europe’s top divisions to the country.

Regarding his immediate future, however, Mourinho stated he is want to return to football management and acknowledged he would accept a job tomorrow if the position was appealing and presented a good opportunity.

Mourinho stated, according to talkSPORT, “I want to work, I’m not in rest mode.” All I want is to avoid making the incorrect choice.

“I have to wait for the person who inspires me and is perfect for me. I would work tomorrow if it were possible.

“I intend to return to management shortly. Roma did a terrific job reaching two European finals in two years, which is no easy feat. However, I now have to bide my time till the ideal moment.

“I want to work tomorrow if possible, but I don’t want to make the wrong decision.”

Though it is unclear where Mourinho will wind up next, it is certain that he is not finished managing football teams and that he will return eventually.
