When Burnley’s updated 2024/25 squad list will be confirmed following transfer window closure

Burnley’s amended squad list for the remainder of the 2024/25 season will be confirmed in the coming days following the close of the January transfer window.

The Clarets, like all of the other clubs in the Championship, are able to register a maximum of 25 players with the EFL that will be eligible to play for them for the rest of the season.

That list must be presented by the club within 24 hours of the transfer window shutting, which was on Monday, February 3.

According to EFL regulations, squad lists will be published on the club’s official website within seven days of the transfer window closing. That means it should be up by Monday night.

Players under the age of 21, such as Jaydon Banel, do not count towards the 25-man roster until brought in on loan.

The squad must have at least eight homegrown players. To be considered a home-grown player, an athlete must have been registered with a club associated with the FA or the FA of Wales for at least three seasons (36 months) prior to their 21st birthday.

Burnley currently has 24’senior players’ (21+) on their roster. With a position still available, the Clarets might theoretically fill it by signing a free agent if they so choose.

Jordan Beyer’s long-term injury prevented him from being registered after the summer transfer window closed.

Shurandy Sambo was also initially left out as the club considered a loan exit, before being added later.
