“I hope so” – Player sounds keen on Stoke City move when asked about interest

On January 16th, we covered claims from Sweden which stated Stoke City wanted to sign Alex Timossi Andersson in the winter market. It was also said he was on his way out of IF Brommapojkarna.

The 24-year-old is still at the Swedish club, with Stole City and others unable to secure his services.

Fotbollskanalen had a chat with Alex Timossi Andersson about the recent claims of Stoke City wanting to sign him.

The winger, who can also operate as a right wing-back, has confirmed Mark Robins’ side were interested in him in January. He hasn’t explained why the Championship club didn’t sign him but is certainly pleased with their interest.

“It’s obviously nice that there’s interest, but I just try to focus on football all the time and where I’m at right now and not try to get away from it. I’m still at BP and it feels damn good now at the beginning of the season,” he said.

When specifically asked if he knows whether Stoke City will continue to follow him, Alex Timossi Andersson explained: “We’ll have to see. I hope so.”

The versatile Swede, who was previously in Bayern Munich’s academy, wants to make a move in the near future. He also believes IF Brommapojkarna won’t be against his sale.

“Yes, of course. I don’t think BP would have been averse to it either. But now there hasn’t been enough concrete interest so it can become something. But of course, it would have been great fun to play at such a big club,” he added.

This should please Stoke City as long as they plan to return for the player in the summer.
