Celtic fans are all saying the same thing after watching Jota’s performance against Dundee.
Celtic’s performance was entertaining! Brendan Rodgers’ team didn’t even need to hit the gas, but Celtic still managed to score six goals against Dundee, and Jota was at his best. Following his comeback goal against Motherwell over the weekend, Jota was immediately promoted to the starting lineup for the rescheduled Premiership match against Dundee. In reality, the rearranged game worked out nicely for the Portuguese star since, ahead of the two massive games against Bayern Munich, he is putting minutes under his belt and attempting to be as prepared as possible. As you might imagine, with Jota announced in the starting XI, those going to Parkhead had a spring in their step and they were right to be feeling so positive.
The returning Bhoys hero was involved in Daizen Maeda’s first goal in the second half, and the build-up to it, which began inside Celtic’s own half, was breathtaking. Jota’s stats for Celtic vs Dundee What was interesting here was that Jota started on the left, his preferred side, with Adam Idah down the middle and Maeda alternating flanks. It worked well, as the champions surged 13 points clear, cigar in hand, ready to defend the Scottish Cup over the weekend and then prepare for Bayern’s visit.
Celtic fans wowed by Jota after win over Dundee
The Celtic fans on social media were swooning over Jota’s performance because it featured him singing and dancing like he used to. If he can get up to speed as soon as can, that speaks well for Rodgers and his two games versus Bayern, especially with Maeda banned. In the long term, it will be interesting to see what style of front line the Celtic manager opts for, given that Idah scored again, as did Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn from the bench. Overall, Celtic fans were unanimously positive about Jota and his outstanding performance.
