Rangers will land ‘hefty’ transfer fee for impressive star as Ibrox renaissance tipped to attract interest

Rangers have been plagued by transfer rumors, but the star has recently found form.

According to Kenny Miller, Rangers may expect a big fee for Ridvan Yilmaz if he moves on this summer.

The left-back, who joined the Light Blues from Besiktas in 2022, has been linked with a return to Turkey on occasion this season. Yilmaz has established himself as a regular under Philippe Clement, while seasoned left-back Borna Barisic’s contract expires in the summer.

Former striker Kenny Miller has been impressed by the 22-year-old since his inclusion in the regular lineup. The star, who has six caps for Turkey, has played 26 times this season, and his initial fee for joining Rangers was around £3.4 million, and Miller thinks if he leaves, he will do so for a good price.

He told Clyde SSB, “It’s taken him some time to settle because it appeared he’d be departing in January. There are two items there.

“He will either be the number one left-back after Barisic leaves…” Alternatively, because he is performing so well both locally and in Europe right now, his transfer worth could have increased over the summer.

“If anybody is looking at him then Rangers might get that transfer fee back that they did there, which was quite a hefty fee at the time.”

Rangers’ next match is a Scottish Cup quarterfinal against Hibs away. Following a 2-2 draw with Benfica in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16, the club now leads the Premiership by two points above Celtic.
