Atalanta make profit from Latte Lath record MLS sale

The legendary Atalanta development system continues to generate new cash, thanks to Emmanuel Latte Lath’s transfer from Middlesbrough to Atlanta United FC.
La Dea won the Europa League last season and has advanced to the Champions League play-offs, where they will face Club Brugge for a spot in the Round of 16.

Their recent success has been accompanied by steady profit, owing primarily to the development of players and their subsequent sale for big sums.
Another reason is their successful young academy, which has produced talents who continue to make headlines.

One of them is striker Latte Lath, who began his career in the Atalanta academy as a youth before being sold to Middlesbrough in 2012 for €5.35 million.

As part of the arrangement, they were also entitled a 10% piece of his future transfer fee, which is now being returned to them.

The Ivory Coast international just signed with Atlanta United FC for €21.25 million, an all-time Major League Soccer transfer record.

As a result, this sale generates an additional €1.8 million in revenue for Serie A.

Amad Diallo, a Manchester United forward, is another successful Atalanta youth product.
