Dundee United winger Miller Thomson joins Falkirk on loan as Bairns eye busy end to January transfer window

Following Callumn Morrison’s move to Linfield this morning, the 20-year-old, who has made 18 appearances for the top-flight Tangerines this season, joins John McGlynn’s team as a wide-area option.

With the team now in second place but one game ahead of Ayr United, manager McGlynn is hoping to strengthen the Bairns’ Premiership challenge, so it will be a hectic couple of hours at the Falkirk Stadium.

Last week, the manager told the Falkirk Herald that he wanted to “do something a little bit interesting” in the event that Morrison departed the team, and it appears like his wish will be fulfilled.

When McGlynn signed United star Thomson, he stated: “Miller is a dynamic and adaptable wide player who is primarily right sided.” He returned to Dundee United after an outstanding season with Montrose in League One, when he helped the team win this level.

With numerous Premiership outings this year, he has subsequently put himself to the test. He is a skilled player who increases our rivalry for spots in the broad regions. In the attacking third of the field, he will undoubtedly have an impact.

“I want to thank Dundee United’s Jim Goodwin and Luigi Capuano for helping to make this deal happen.”
