Nottingham Forest City Ground redevelopment update emerges amid big fixture plan

After hosting an England international match, redevelopment work on Nottingham Forest’s City Ground may begin after the end of the upcoming season, according to a source.

In 2019, the Reds initially revealed their ambitious plan to renovate their stadium.Work on the multi-million-pound redevelopment has not yet started due to a number of issues and difficulties, and the club’s future at the stadium was in doubt last year.

Forest contemplated relocating after a disagreement over rent and a new lease with Nottingham City Council, the landowners. Senior council members, however, consented to sell the property to the club once talks between the two sides had resumed.

According to reports, Nottingham’s central location and transportation connections to the north and south are what drew the Football Association. The City Ground will host an England international for the first time since hosting a friendly match against Wales in 1941. In 1909, the stadium hosted an official international match between the two countries.
