Suns: Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla’s strong Bradley Beal PG take

Bradley Beal’s recent performances at point have impressed the opposing coach for the Suns Saturday, Celtics’ Joe Mazzulla.

The Phoenix Suns, who play against the 48-12 Boston Celtics, the NBA’s best club, will start Bradley Beal as point guard in their primetime encounter.

The Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla is worried about Beal’s play.

He said, “His whole career, he’s been really great in transition,” as reported by Shane Young of Forbes. On him, body positioning is crucial.

Beal, who has missed 29 games for the Suns despite continuing his engagement, has started the last three games at point guard. Devin Booker will not play against Boston due to a sprained right ankle.

Mazzulla remarked, “He can change speeds really well.” “Tonight, body positioning on Beal and Durant is the most important factor. We gave up 6–8 points on backcuts in the last game.”

Three-time All-Star Bradley Beal was a contender for the NBA scoring title in 2020–21.

Even though Beal played fewer than 10 percent of his minutes at the position with the Washington Wizards in 2022-23, his point-guard skills have filled a “need,” in his eyes.

“I’ve embraced the role a lot more,” said Beal, whose natural position is shooting guard. His skills have also impressed Kevin Durant.

Durant stated, “I think he is playing traditional point guard right now, but he has brought the ball up before.” Every time down, he sets up the attack and gives his teammates opportunities to score. He is one of those guys who can do everything; he is persistent in his attempts to kick out. He will find a way out of any predicament you get him into. Being an unselfish player, he possesses skills that allow him to adapt to any situation.”
