Erik ten Hag’s team struck twice from the penalty spot, with Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford adding to their total.
The Red Devils remain in contention for Champions League football next season, with the distance to fifth-placed Tottenham down to three points.

Player Ratings
Andre Onana[7]
Everton sprinted out of the blocks at Old Trafford, forcing Onana into action, including a scramble in the six-yard box that the Cameroon international superbly cleared.
A well-deserved seventh clean sheet in the Premier League.
Diogo Dalot[6]
Dalot’s synergy with Garnacho was evident here, with the Portuguese right-back always posing a threat with lung-bursting overlaps and exquisite build-up play.
However, his zeal to move forward occasionally left United short at the back, and the most of Everton’s success came down his wing as a result.
Raphael Varane[7]
The best player in United’s back line.
United had a shaky start to the game, but Varane’s expertise shined through, and his poise on the ball helped his teammates relax down.
He made a critical block on the verge of halftime to maintain United’s two-goal advantage.
Jonny Evans [5].
It seemed like he’d spent the week snoozing rather than practicing. The 36-year-old struggled with Everton’s aggressive press, but he gained confidence once United took the lead.
United supporters praised his performance with a standing ovation in the second half, but they will also be counting down the days until Lisandro Martinez returns.
After a poor performance at left-back in the Manchester derby last week, Lindelof looked more composed and confident here.
He handled Jack Harrison’s danger effectively, but struggled to match Luke Shaw’s regular offensive threat.
Casemiro (3]
Stank the house out. Casemiro’s pass completion rate in the first half must have been in the single digits.
Despite being one of United’s more seasoned players, he was an absolute disaster in possession and was fortunate that Everton did not punish one of his numerous errors.
The Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a transfer to Saudi Arabia, and United should use the opportunity to cash in on him this summer.
United’s 18-year-old star delivered an underappreciated performance.
Mainoo has now played 12 consecutive league games for United and appears to be at ease as a first-team regular.
He won’t make the highlight reel, but he brings consistency to a United midfield that has frequently been criticized for being too chaotic.
Scott McTominay (5)
Played in a more advanced midfield position, where his physicality was crucial for winning long balls and aerial duels.
However, his passing in the final third was poor, and he lacked the creativity and vision to consistently play farther forward.
Bruno Fernandes[8]
In a performance when United depended on flashes of brilliance, virtually all of them included their Portuguese playmaker.
He continued his excellent penalty-taking record and was unlucky not to score a second with a pinpoint free kick in the first half.
Garnacho will have pleasant memories of meeting Everton following his stunning bicycle kick at Goodison Park, and he had a great time against the Toffees tonight with a genuinely dazzling display.
United’s youth star won both penalties with deft technique and was a constant danger from both wings; his only complaint is that he was wasteful in front of goal and should have left Old Trafford with his own goal.
Marcus Rashford [6]
Had a quiet day but managed to get his name on the scoreboard after Fernandes gave him the second penalty.
Ten Hag has changed the structure of his team and found a way to retain Rashford in his preferred left-wing position until Rasmus Hojlund is back to full health.
Substitutes
Sofyan Amrabat [6] – Replaced Mainoo late in the second half and made many crucial tackles. His loan term has been uninspiring, but he may have discovered a position as a replacement capable of defending a lead.
Antony [N/A] – United’s £86 million addition has lost his position in the starting lineup and did not do well in his brief appearance here to restore it.
Willy Kambwala [N/A] has more experience from United’s academy.
