Seeking a new home in the sun: Aberdeen FC supporters club the Tenerife Dons leaving their beloved Zizzi’s Bar.
The Tenerife Dons, Aberdeen FC’s international supporters group, are looking for a new home in the sunshine.
For years, the gang has gathered at Zizzi’s Bar in Los Cristianos to watch sports.
However, with the bar up for sale and the fans club’s failed effort to acquire and manage it themselves, they are looking for a new football pub.
While the club looks for a new location, they are currently housed in Legends, a local pool and snooker pub.
The group gathered at a pub near Zizzi’s to watch Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Hibs.
Legends was well set with enormous TVs showing the Dandies play, and they even served half-time pies.
On match days, the Tenerife Dons gathered at Zizzi’s. Martyn Mackie’s image.
The club will continue fundraising for the Aberdeen FC Community Trust in its temporary location.
Tenerife Dons are looking for a new house.
When Zizzis owner Willie Bruce placed the bar up for sale, the Tenerife Dons tried to buy it as a group.
They have a lengthy history with the venue and have previously hosted Dons stars.
However, while Mr Bruce and his wife were pleased with the offer, they allege a long-serving member of staff halted the relocation.
The supporters organization kept followers updated via social media.
A statement reads: “Unfortunately, due to ongoing problems at Zizzis and the fact that it is now for sale, we are currently homeless.”
“We will notify you as soon as we have a new location or new proprietors for the bar.
“When we learned that the bar was for sale, we formed a consortium to acquire it from Willie.
