Rangers: Chris Sutton hits out at Celtic conspiracies in new title verdict

Rangers’ Chris Sutton blasts Celtic conspiracy in fresh title verdict.

Chris Sutton has attacked Celtic “conspiracy theorists” as Rangers continue to compete for the Scottish Premiership championship this season.

The Hoops have been dominating in Scotland in recent years, but with the league crown again at stake, the Old Firm rivals are at odds once more.

With only a two-point lead at the top, Sutton feels Celtic are the only ones to blame for allowing Philippe Clement’s Rangers team, who have been outstanding, to take the top place.

On Friday (9 March), he wrote in the Daily Record: “The refs were a handy getout at the weekend, but it’s not John Beaton’s fault Celtic have dropped 19 points this season.”

“It is not the authorities’ fault that a Rangers club that has lost five games is atop the league table. [Don] Robertson did not leave this group ill-prepared for Europe and depleted of bodies for a title race.

“[Brendan] Rodgers and Celtic can try to instill a siege mentality or even appeal to conspiracy theories. But if they don’t get it together in the next nine games, they’ll only have themselves to blame.
