Report: How long Jayden Danns is set to be injured for after Liverpool youngster joins Sunderland on-loan

The fallout from Liverpool’s quiet transfer window is continuing on Tuesday as some loose ends are tied up.

The Reds elected to remain idle for the second January market in a row, apparently believing that Arne Slot has enough options for the remainder of the season.
Not only that, but Liverpool did slightly downsize its squad, with a number of young players leaving on loan.

Jayden Danns, a striker, appeared to be poised for a January departure.

However, with Danns’ projected move to Sunderland still to be revealed as Monday’s deadline passed, it appeared that something had gone awry.

Eventually, the change was completed and properly disclosed on Tuesday. But there was an issue: Danns had sustained an injury. As the 19-year-old faces with a tough start to life in the North East, an update has been provided on when he may expect to return to play.

Jayden Danns set to return in ‘several weeks’

This is very disappointing news. Sunderland appears to be a nice fit for Danns, with Regis Le Bris’ team aiming for promotion with a very young side.

However, after a loan transfer to Plymouth fell through at the start of the season due to injury, Danns’ fitness has flared up once more.
According to The Athletic, it might be’several weeks’ before the kid is eligible to play for Sunderland.According to reports, Danns will remain at Liverpool’s training camp to recover from a back issue.

Despite the fact that they may not see him for a while, there is ‘optimism’ at Sunderland that Danns may still make an impact at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland’s season might last until late May if they qualify for the Championship play-offs, which is likely, so there is still plenty of time for the Liverpool forward to get involved.

Liverpool shouldn’t have risked Danns at PSV

It’s not surprising that Danns has taken a hit. The adolescent was subjected to some extremely harsh treatment during last week’s loss to PSV Eindhoven.

Of course, Danns was not meant to participate in that game, but Darwin Nunez’s illness prompted Slot to make the decision.

However, in retrospect, the Liverpool manager should have thrown in one of the other young players instead.

It was a proud night for Liverpool as Danns created history, but it looks that it was not without cost.

Sunderland fans have every reason to be frustrated for the time being, but Jayden will undoubtedly prove to be worth the wait once he is fully healthy again.
