Steve Sidwell has given his take on the controversy in the final minutes of the Premier League match between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool at the City Ground last weekend.

The game’s lone goal was scored by Uruguay international striker Darwin Nunez in the ninth minute of injury time.
Nunez made his way home after receiving the cross from Alexis Mac Allister. Although there were defensive blunders at the back that resulted in the goal, the preceding events were very contentious.
Play was restarted from a drop ball, but referee Paul Tierney gave the ball to Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher in error.
Less than two minutes had passed before Núnez left for his house. In the ninth minute of injury time, the goal was scored. Graham Scott, the fourth official, indicated eight further minutes; nevertheless, the figure held up is a minimum, according to The Guardian.

Steve Sidwell, a former midfielder for Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion, commented on the dispute and stated that the choice was incorrect.
Sidwell said on That Peter Crouch Podcast: “It’s bad. It’s the law. It’s the wrong decision. It’s not subjective. What he has done is incorrect. It was a monumental error!”
