Stoke City squad depth as transfer window reshapes Mark Robins’ options on a budget

Mark Robins has had a busy first month in charge of Stoke City even if there have only been two new signings.

Two new signings, five new faces and a few more, hopefully, to emerge like new players for Mark Robins navigates only his second month in charge of Stoke City.

First off, left-back-come-midfielder Josh Wilson-Esbrand has joined on loan from Manchester City and striker Ali Al-Hamadi has signed on loan from Ipswich Town.
Secondly, Nathan Lowe has been recalled from an outstanding loan at Walsall, Lewis Baker is back from Blackburn Rovers and Ryan Mmaee ended a loan at Rapid Vienna on deadline day to come home early.

Ali Al-Hamadi has signed for Stoke on loan from Ipswich.

Thirdly, there are players who hopefully won’t be all that far away from coming out of the treatment room or will make strides towards being match ready. Million Manhoef, Ben Pearson, Ben Gibson, Bosun Lawal, Jordan Thompson and Ben Wilmot will hopefully be featuring sooner rather than later. There’s Sam Gallagher, Eric Bocat and Mmaee to follow too.

So Stoke have managed to tweak their first team squad in the January window without really being able to spend anything at this point in the three-year rolling Financial Fair Play cycle. Hopefully the rules will change to make for an easier summer but we’re all still waiting on that front.

This is the Stoke squad going forward for the rest of the campaign, tasked with pulling the Potters up and away from the trouble at the bottom of the Championship.
