Living a “ordeal” at Stadium of Light, Sunderland’s summer signing has a “very complicated” and “abysmal” stat line.

The difficult start Adil Aouchiche is experiencing at Sunderland is being highlighted by the French media today.

The midfielder, who joined the Black Cats on a free transfer from FC Lorient last summer, has had difficulty breaking into the starting lineup ever since the season began.

French source But! has noted this and notes that Aouchiche’s complex predicament has been dragging for some time.

He reportedly had difficulty playing at Lorient, which is why he agreed to transfer to Sunderland in the hopes that he would “bounce back” in England.

Between his entrance to December, Aouchiche even had numerous opportunities to establish his worth, but since then, everything has changed.

He has only played in three of Sunderland’s last eleven games, totaling just four appearances in 2024.

But note that he’s currently going through a “ordeal” with the Championship team, highlighting his “abysmal” goal and assist total thus far.

The midfield player signed a five-year contract with Sunderland, despite the fact that he is now dealing with a “very complicated” scenario.

That implies that his contract will expire in 2028, so it will be a while before we hear how the parties resolve this.
