This season, the offensive midfielder has decided which number he will wear for the Blues.
Carlos Alcaraz, a midfielder, has joined Everton on loan from Flamengo in Brazil. The 22-year-old Argentine youth international may be eligible for a permanent transfer if he fulfills appearance requirements, which the Brazilian media seems to believe are easily achievable.
Alcaraz, also known by his nickname Charly, was loaned to Juventus in Italy last season after having previously played for Southampton in the Premier League.
The midfielder, who has worn the #22 at Southampton, Juventus, and Flamengo, as well as the #26 at Saints, will don the #24 shirt for the Toffees. Armando Broja, another loanee, is presently wearing the Toffees’ number 22 shirt.
Prior to Anthony Gordon’s most recent appearance, Everton’s #24 shirt was worn by a variety of players.
