Lyall Cameron signs for Rangers as Dundee star pens Ibrox pre-contract to end transfer saga

Lyall Cameron signs for Rangers as Dundee star pens Ibrox pre-contract to end transfer saga.

The 22-year-old Dens Park star has agreed to a pre-contract with Rangers.

Lyall Cameron has signed a pre-contract deal with Rangers, ahead of his summer move from Dundee. Record Sport originally reported in January that the Ibrox club had reignited their interest in the Dens Park playmaker and were looking for a deal similar to the one that brought Connor Barron to Glasgow last summer. They’ve subsequently stepped things up, and an agreement has been reached, with Cameron ready to make the transfer when his contract expires in June. The deal for the 22-year-old is part of Ibrox’s recruitment makeover, which aims to attract young players with great potential and resale value. Cameron is seen as the future Scotland.
If all goes as planned, he will be an international, and he has scored eight goals and assisted seven times for Tony Docherty’s club this season. He has scored or helped 39 goals in 109 games for the Dens since graduating from their academy, and Dundee will receive training compensation as part of the deal. Rangers technical director Nils Koppen stated, “I am delighted that we have agreed a deal for Lyall to join the club and continue his career at Rangers in the summer.” “He is a brilliant young player with extensive experience in the Scottish Premiership, and bringing young Scottish talent to our first-team squad is extremely important to all of us at the club.

“Lyall has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing him continue to grow at Rangers in the coming years.”
