Swansea City target deadline-day deal for European-based midfielder

Wales Online claims that although the Swans are eager to negotiate a loan agreement with the Austrian team, they will have to contend with fierce competition from many other clubs hoping to recruit him.

Clark is a top target for Luke Williams’ team, which is eager to increase their attacking midfield options before the deadline. A winger is also reportedly high on the list of priorities.

After four straight losses, Swansea is looking over their shoulders rather than up the league, and they desperately need new players to assist them stop their decline down the second tier table.

Swansea is trying to bolster its attacking areas in order to obtain enough goals at the top end of the field, but time is running out before the 11pm deadline, as there are concerns that they could be heading straight for the League One relegation trapdoor.

Swansea City hopes to outbid the other teams for midfielder Bobby Clark, according to Wales Online.

The 19-year-old moved from Merseyside to Austria for a whopping £10 million last summer, but it’s possible the young player will soon return to these shores.

Given that Clark is still in Austria, a move for him might be difficult, but if it is absolutely essential, there is hope that any agreement could be finalized remotely.

After just seven months in command, Clark departed his position in Austria in December to join former Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders at Red Bull Salzburg.

Since the Dutchman left, Clark has lost favor at the Red Bull Arena and is eager to leave, but the prodigy is running out of time on the last day of the transfer window.

Minutes played 1,003
Goals 1
Assists 2

Swansea is also reportedly interested in finalizing loan agreements for midfielders Lewis O’Brien and Jacob Wright, the latter of whom is said to have a buyout clause at the end of the current campaign.

Although Bobby Clark is a player with the ability to rise to the top of the game, his transfer to Red Bull Salzburg hasn’t gone as planned thus far due to Pep Lijnders’ abrupt departure.

Clark, who has only scored one goal and provided two assists in 20 games for the team, needs consistent playing time to restart his early career, and the second division is one of the best divisions for this.
