Chris Heck provides information about the plans for the club’s 150th anniversary celebration in this BirminghamLive story about Aston villa.

Chris Heck, the president of business operations of Aston Villa, has shared fascinating plans for the 150th anniversary celebration that will take place the next year.

After six months with the club, Heck gave a mid-season update to the Villa TV channel.

He gave an explanation for choices like stopping the renovation of Villa Park and provided an update on the new club crest.

He has engaged with fan groups and in consultation meetings to gauge the opinion from supporters on the club’s new crest – which will be revealed in the coming weeks – and has immersed himself in Villa’s rich history.

After leading plans to commemorate the club’s 150th anniversary, he has since shared some details.

“There is nothing better than history,” Heck explained. “With a club like Aston Villa, being the first big club to hit that 150th mark, that gives us a format and a plan to put in place something which has never been seen before in English football.

“We will launch our 150th anniversary marque in logo and you’ll start to see a countdown clock in days from the end of the season which we will officially start the celebration.

“The fans, legacy, former players, and coaches will all be highlighted at this 150th anniversary celebration. With all of the club’s achievements. We want everyone’s opinions to be considered in this.

“I think that this is something which will set us apart from every club in the world.”
