Oscar Cortes, a winger for the Rangers, will miss two months of action after it was discovered that his injury requires surgery, according to Pipe Sierra.
Despite still being an official Lens player, the Colombian journalist writes on his personal Twitter account on March 5 that the loanee would need surgery and will go through entire rehab with Rangers.
Prior to the 2-1 loss to Motherwell, Philippe Clement disclosed that the 20-year-old had sustained a “serious injury.” As a result, it appears he will be sidelined until mid-May.
“Ñscar Cortés (20) will be sidelined from the field for approximately two months due to a posterior muscle injury and will require surgery,” the statement read.
“The Colombian is still Lens property, but Rangers will oversee the entire process.”
Rangers are struck by a hammer injury once more.
Rangers have suffered a great deal this season due to a number of issues, so receiving yet another major injury is devastating.
Throughout this campaign, Clement has had to adjust and manage with the long-term injuries that Danilo, Abdallah Sima, Kemar Roofe, Kieran Dowell, and others have sustained.
The player was left off the Europa League squad list because of domestic problems, but there was hope that the injury might not be as serious as initially thought and that he could return to aid the team in their attempt to defeat Celtic to win the Scottish championship.
The midfielder, who came to Ibrox on loan in January, played brilliantly in the brief time he was there, showcasing both his inventiveness and his thrilling dribbling pace.
However, the Rangers are currently lacking in attacking personnel once more, and this summer, a significant overhaul of the medical department is required since the problems just cannot go on.
