Burnley favourite Jay Rodriguez completes Wrexham switch
The striker Jay Rodriguez has completed a permanent move to Wrexham, ending his second stint at Burnley.
After rising through the Academy ranks and making his debut with a stunning goal against Fulham in 2008,
Rodriguez went on to play more than 300 games for the Clarets.
The 35-year-old is considered a club legend after scoring 76 goals for his hometown team.
Rodriguez had stints with Southampton and West Brom after his initial stint at Turf Moor ended in 2012. He even
earned an England cap on the international scene.
With six points separating them from the top two, the Red Dragons are currently in third place in the standings and are looking to build on their consecutive National League promotions.
“I’m ready to join the club,” Rodriguez declared. “I am really excited to see everyone on the training pitch.
“I hope that by using my experience, I can benefit the team as a whole and assist each and every individual. It excites
me to be a part of the narrative that has developed at Wrexham with certain goals.
He played 22 times for Burnley this season, getting on the scoresheet in the wins against Swansea and Stoke.
