Dozy missed Rangers transfer target falls foul of furious boss as he’s axed from squad for SLEEPING IN

Jose Cordoba was cut by Norwich City for sleeping in, so Rangers lost out on a deal for him last summer.

Now, the defender is missing out.

The Panamanian defender signed a contract with the English Championship team, declining the opportunity to join Rangers in favor of trying his luck south of the border.

The 23-year-old has had a difficult time maintaining a consistent starting position for the Canaries this season due to injury, but he was anticipated to be included in the squad for Saturday’s match against Watford.

However, manager Johannes Hoff Thorup revealed the odd reason for the center-back’s expulsion from the team, acknowledging that it was a disciplinary measure taken by the team.

He stated: “He overslept and missed the team meeting yesterday.” He is anticipated to be called back to the team the following week, though.

Ultimately, Norwich won 1-0, so they didn’t need him.

Rangers desperately needed a center-back, and they wouldn’t have been pleased to see Cordoba go if he had chosen to join the Scottish Premiership.
