Frank Lampard has decided on his Coventry City team to face Swansea

Following this week’s transfer move, which saw the Swans’ finest player, Matt Grimes, join the Sky Blues, Frank Lampard has selected an unchanged Coventry City team to play Swansea in what is sure to be a fierce match in South Wales.

The midfield player isn’t playing today, and although Luke Williams’ team is obviously weakened by his absence, his decision may have inspired the players to go out and defeat the visitors.

On a day when Brad Collins remains Coventry’s backup goalkeeper and Ben Wilson has resumed full training after recovering from a knee injury, Oliver Dovin continues to play in goal.

The previous Swan is seen by the back three. The wing-backs in the 3-5-2 system are Milan van Ewijk on the right and Jake Bidwell, another former Swansea player, on the left. Joel Latibeaudiere is joined in the midfield by Bobby Thomas and Liam Kitching on the left.

This leaves captain Jamie Allen in a deeper holding and patrolling duty in the middle of the park, with Victor Torp and Jack Rudoni in the middle as eights on each side of him.

Lastly, on a day when Norman Bassette is the only recognized striker among the substitutes due to Fabio Tavares’ loan move to Burton Albion, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Ellis Simms continue their relationship up front. However, Raphael Borges Rodrigues and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto do offer attacking alternatives.

City: Oliver Dovin; Joel Latibeaudiere, Bobby Thomas, Liam Kitching; Milan van Ewijk, Victor Torp, Jamie Allen, Jack Rudoni, Jake Bidwell; Brandon Thomas-Asante, Ellis Simms.

Subs: Brad Collins (GK); Luis Binks, Jay Dasilva, Josh Eccles, Norman Bassette, Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Raphael Borges Rodrigues, Ryan Howley, Callum Perry.
