Josh Wander has responded to claims that 777 Partners are the wrong party to take over Everton Football Club after major concerns were raised.
After striking a deal with Farhad Moshiri for his interest back in September, the Miami-based investment business is still waiting on the Premier League to rule on their ownership of the team.
However, because of their own financial problems and the way they have managed their other clubs, significant doubts have been raised about how they will manage the team. According to Josemar Football, 777 Partners owe $3.6 billion.
But on March 5, Wander replied to the aforementioned article that a fan named John Louis Jones had forwarded to him on LinkedIn. The fan then posted his comment on his own Twitter account.
“Impressive. “Did they take that picture of me while hanging from a chandelier?” he wrote.
“All of the numbers are completely inaccurate, taken out of context, and, like all of the content, defamatory, with the express intent to sabotage our transaction.
“One might wonder who is paying for these publications; if they were real supporters of the team, wouldn’t they at least show a little appreciation for helping the team survive the past five months in spite of several PSR infractions?
“Undoubtedly, an investor who wasn’t fully dedicated to the club’s long-term viability and prosperity would have left.
In any case, I appreciate my daily fix of humour. Cheers to a future filled with success both on and off the pitch.
Everton fans finally get a response from 777 Partners
The lack of transparency from all parties involved in this acquisition process has been one of the main complaints from Everton supporters.
Even though it’s been several months longer than expected, the Premier League is still not providing supporters with information on the matter, and neither the club nor 777 have said anything until now.
There are many reports emerging about how awful 777 is and all the problems that are occurring outside of this transaction, but nobody knows what is going on.
If nothing else, Wander’s attempt to defend himself shows that he is aware of the situation and that it is obviously still occurring, so it’s encouraging to see him try.
Since 777 has been saving Everton for months, they are in a serious hole right now, and if the deal falls through, Shinji has already distanced himself from the situation more than is necessary.
Even though not much has been said, at least someone has finally spoken out, which is important for the club because they need to make a choice as soon as possible so that plans for the upcoming months and years can begin.
