“A Proven Shotmaker”: Marquette Golden Eagles Kam Jones Lands With Stacked Team In Latest 2025 NBA Mock Draft

“A Proven Shotmaker”: Marquette Golden Eagles Kam Jones Lands With Stacked Team In Latest 2025 NBA Mock Draft

With an overall record of 18-3 and a 9-1 record in the Big East Conference this season, the Marquette Golden Eagles are currently ranked ninth in the nation.

They and the St. John’s Red Storm are tied for first place in the conference.

Guard Kam Jones is one of the reasons Marquette is among the top teams in the nation this year. Under head coach Shaka Smart, he has led this team this season.

Since Tyler Kolek graduated last year and was selected in the NBA draft, Jones has taken over that role.

The Boston Celtics are selecting Marquette Golden Eagles guard Kam Jones in the 2025 NBA Mock Draft, according to the most recent Bleacher Report.

In 2025, bleacherreport.com’s Jonathan Wasserman produced his most recent two-round NBA mock draft.

He has Jones selected by the Boston Celtics from Marquette with the 28th overall pick.

Kam Jones was likened by Wasserman to Malik Monk. According to Jonathan Wasserman:

Kam Jones, a seasoned shooter and one of the better rim-finishing guards in college basketball, has emerged as a playmaker this season with 6.4 assists.

Draft stock has historically been impacted by a player’s age on draft night, but it’s becoming difficult to find flaws in a 6’5′′ combo with 286 career threes, a functional floater game, three straight seasons above 65.0 percent around the hoop, and steadily getting better at playmaking.

Kam Jones has shot 49.5% from the field and averaged 18.9 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, and 6.3 assists per game thus far this season. He weighs 200 pounds and stands 6’5″.

The Boston Celtics would be a good place for Jones to land if he decides to enter the NBA Draft after this season.

They are currently the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 33–15 record for the season.

Final First-Round Selection

Kam Jones is projected to be selected close to the end of the first round in a lot of mock drafts.

The Memphis Grizzlies, Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Clippers are a few more teams that could select close to the end of the first round this season in addition to the Boston Celtics.

Jones might have a chance to be selected higher in the first round.

If he were to sneak into the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft at this point, it would be shocking.
