Celtic and Rangers went beyond the group stages of the Champions League and Europa League, respectively.
Celtic qualified for the Champions League knockout round after placing 21st in the competition’s league phase. They will face Bayern Munich in the play-offs.
Rangers, meanwhile, went to the Europa League’s final 16 after finishing ninth in the modified league phase format. Rangers face one of FC Twente, Bodo/Glimt, Anderlecht, or Fenerbahce in the round of 16.
Both Glasgow clubs received big incentives for their performances, since UEFA offered bounties for wins and draws in European competition.
Celtic earned nearly three times as much as Rangers because they played in the Champions League rather than the Europa League.
Celtic received €18.62 million for competing in the Champions League league round, surpassing Rangers’ total earnings in the Europa League thus far.
The Ibrox team received €4.31 million for participating in the Europa League league stage.
Winning the Champions League comes with a €2.1 million UEFA prize, while winning the Europa League earns clubs €450k.
Champions League draws are worth €700,000, while Europa League draws are for €150,000.
Celtic has earned €32.42 million (£27.14 million) in total from participation, performance, and qualification payments, excluding ticket sales and legacy UEFA payments.
Rangers’ calculation is €10.935 million (£9.15 million).
