Angel Gomes, a 24-year-old midfielder for LOSC Lille who is a target for Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Newcastle United, has received a pre-contract offer from West Ham United.
West Ham United is reportedly interested in Angel Gomes, per a report from Caught Offside. The LOSC Lille midfielder is also a target for Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Newcastle United.
The 24-year-old, who has reached the last six months of his contract with the Ligue 1 team, has received a pre-contract offer from the Hammers.
Angel Gomes’s voyage through France
Since moving to LOSC Lille in August 2020 as a Bosman, just after his contract with Manchester United ended, Angel Gomes has become one of the most reliable midfielders in Ligue 1.
Despite graduating from the Premier League club‘s youth tier, the London native was unable to make an impression on the first team.
The 24-year-old hasn’t looked back, though, since coming back from a Boavista loan. The Englishman has made almost 150 appearances for Lille so far, contributing nine goals and 19 assists. Aston Villa, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and West Ham United are aware of the situation, and Gomes is expected to depart the Ligue 1 team as a free agent after reaching the last six months of his contract.
A sought-after man
With Unai Emery’s team beset by injuries, Aston Villa could use a versatile midfielder like Gomes. Thus, the West Midlands team has made the English international a realistic aim. Regarding Newcastle United, Joe Willock is now a supporting member of the Tyneside team.
In the meantime, it seems logical that Manchester United would want to re-sign Angel Gomes. Christian Eriksen and Casemiro’s future at Old Trafford is questionable since Ruben Amorim is prepared to approve their departures this year. Gomes has therefore become a serious contender to take the position of the aging pair.
In the first half of the 2024–25 season, Edson Alvarez, Guido Rodriguez, and Tomas Soucek have all been hot and cold for West Ham United. Gomes has emerged as a target for the Hammers, who need additional talent in the middle of the park.
