“I’m told…” – Ben Jacobs is now hearing something different about Leeds move to sign PL star

With Leeds United presently leading the championship, supporters will be hoping that their team can push deals over the finish line in the race for Premier League promotion. However, one player they won’t be bringing in is Newcastle United defender Matt Targett, as Ben Jacobs exclusively told GIVEMESPORT that the Whites are not in the running for his services. With a 0-0 draw with Burnley on Monday night, Leeds maintained their lead in the table, two points ahead of Sheffield United and three ahead of Burnley, who are continuing to put pressure on the West Yorkshire team. Targett, who is still unpopular on Tyneside, is one star who might not be able to help with that and send them up at the second time of asking. With Leeds starting Sam Byram on his unconventional left-flank, reports earlier in the week indicated that Targett was a target for Daniel Farke, and a deal was near before the transfer deadline.

However, Jacobs stated in an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT that there is no truth to the rumors promoting Targett’s transfer to Elland Road and that the club is not interested in him. “With only one appearance in the FA Cup against Bromley, where he recorded an assist, and a late cameo against Aston Villa on Boxing Day, where he recorded just 11 minutes of games for the club, Targett has barely played for Newcastle this season despite having 18 months left on his contract,” he said.

He will seek more playing time because, under Eddie Howe, he lost ground to Dan Burn, Tino Livramento, and Lewis Hall. However, Farke will not allow that to happen because Junior Firpo will soon return to action.Even though Joe Gelhardt went on loan, Leeds hasn’t signed anyone this season. However, if they can pull off any deals before Monday’s deadline, there might be a late rush of action at Elland Road soon.
