‘No fear’ – Birmingham City vs Rotherham United prediction: The72

Birmingham City has survived a challenging holiday season. With victories over Huddersfield Town and draws with Wrexham and Stockport County, BCFC has maintained its lead in League One. As Chris Davies’ team looks to return to the Championship as soon as possible, Keshi Anderson’s incredible goal in Yorkshire was enough to send the Blues home with three points. Since their unexpected loss to Shrewsbury Town at the end of November, City has been undefeated in the league. Davies and company will be hoping for a repeat at St. Andrew’s this weekend in order to increase their advantage at the top after defeating Rotherham United at the AESSEAL New York Stadium back in September.

Even though Rotherham United had a rough start to the season, Steve Evans’ team has managed to escape the drop, even though preseason projections had them competing for the top spot. Since then, they have leveled off in the middle of the park and are now only seven points outside of the playoffs in 14th place. However, the Millers’ loss to Burton Albion most likely indicates that they aren’t yet prepared to make such a drive. With just two victories at St. Andrew’s since 1966, the Millers’ trips to the Second City haven’t exactly been successful over the years. Only seven times in the 41 meetings between the two teams has Rotherham prevailed. A few of our authors share their game predictions here.

Although it may not be a widely held belief, I believe Birmingham City is not underachieving, but rather underperforming. It seems strange to say that about a team that has won all but eight of its games this season, but I get the impression that they are a team that is somewhat shackled.I really believe they will defeat Rotherham United and go on to win the league, so there shouldn’t be any reason for alarm. With nine victories, three draws, and no league goals given up at home since November, they are a formidable force at St. Andrew’s.I simply believe the hosts are too strong at home to be seriously threatened, even though the Millers do have some League One attributes in the closing third.
