Arsenal should explore deal for Wolves star in January

Matheus Cunha, a star for Wolverhampton Wanderers, might be a target for Arsenal when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Gunners’ Premier League campaign has gotten off to a dismal start. They now sit nine points behind leaders Liverpool in the league, in fourth place.

Going forward, the London giants cannot afford to make mistakes, and in order to try to close the gap to the top, they must go on a winning streak in the upcoming weeks.

We think Arsenal should spend the money during the winter transfer window given they have been interested in acquiring a new center-forward since the summer.

With seven goals this season, Kai Havertz has been a respectable goalkeeper, but Gabriel Jesus hasn’t impressed. So far, he has failed to score in the league.

We think Cunha would be a great addition to the Gunners, who ideally need an upgrade on the pair.

Although the Brazil international can play anywhere in the final third, his best performances have come from the number 10 spot or as a center-forward.

Cunha has all the makings of a great striker, which is exactly what Arsenal needs.

He averages nearly two successful dribbles per game and is skilled with the ball at his feet. He is capable of making recoveries and winning frequent battles.

Additionally, he has a talent for contributing to goals. Three of Cunha’s seven goals this season have come from outside the box.

In addition, he has contributed three assists and has the potential to have more. This season, the former Atletico Madrid player has averaged 1.8 vital passes and produced nine excellent opportunities.

Alexander Isak of Newcastle United is clearly a long-term target for Arsenal, but Cunha would make a fantastic addition and might be signed in January.

Last year, Wolves paid £44 million for the 25-year-old. Given their recent financial difficulties, we think a package worth about £60 million may put their determination to the test.
