It has been a disastrous season so far for Queens Park Rangers.
QPR have struggled to win games in the early months of the 2024/25 season, putting them in danger of dropping to the third tier of English football for the first time since 2004 next season.
The R’s will be hoping to find some form in the run-up to the new year; otherwise, they risk sliding further behind the teams outside the relegation zone, making it more difficult to persuade their transfer targets to join the club in January.
Head coach Marti Cifuentes will most certainly make changes to his squad when the transfer market opens, as his current group has failed to meet the expectations he had at the start of the season.
The Hoops have been hindered by crucial player injuries this season, so there will be hope that they can turn things around once some of their regular starters return to fitness, though it would not be surprising if they looked to add more talent to their roster this winter.
While QPR may be planning to bring in players during the January transfer window, a handful of them may leave because they have not been given enough first-team football.
Rayan Kolli
Rayan Kolli, a young player, may be interested in a potential January departure.
The 19-year-old made 10 Championship appearances during his debut season last year, and he would have been hoping to continue his progress and establish himself in the first squad this season.
However, after appearing in two of the first three games of the season and providing an assist against West Bromwich Albion on the first day, he has since made only one substitute appearance.
For whatever reason, Kolli has not been given as many opportunities as he would have liked this season, and he does not appear to be a key part of Cifuentes’ immediate plans, so it would not be surprising to see him leave the club on loan during the upcoming transfer window, despite the fact that he is a gifted young player.
