Intriguing Leeds United transfer suggestion as 49ers plan for promotion raid of Championship rival

If Leeds United is promoted back to the Premier League, they may look into re-signing Jack Clarke from Sunderland in the summer.

The Whites are hoping that after this campaign, they will be promoted back to the first division at the first opportunity under Daniel Farke.

The 49ers, who now fully own the team after relegation, would need to make some significant investments if they were to return to the Premier League.

If Jack Clarke were promoted, Leeds would consider him – Journalist

After making many lackluster transfers from Leeds in 19/20, Jack Clarke has settled in wonderfully at Sunderland and is now a key member of the Black Cats’ Championship team.

Journalist Dean Jones thinks Leeds would try to sign the left winger again if they get promoted to the premier league.

According to him, Give Me Sport:

“That will rely on what transpires towards the conclusion of the season with players like Summerville and Gnonto. I can another situation in which we are discussing the two players’ futures.

“Leeds will be pleading with them to recommit to the club and see this through.” It’s been a challenging season, and their goal will be fulfilled if they can exit the league.

If they do return to the Premier League, Clarke is the kind of player they will be after.

“Jack Clarke’s season-long statistics

This season, Clarke is vying for the Championship’s Golden Boot. His direct style of play, which we only saw glimpses of during his brief stint with Leeds’ first team, terrorizes full-backs every week.

In an otherwise poor Sunderland team, he has developed into a reliable performer, and his stats support this:

Another Clarke-like right-footed left winger is not what Leeds needs.

Leeds won’t be using Clarke if they are going to advance and then spend £20 million on an attacker in the summer.

Although he is outstanding and deserving of a spot in the Premier League, do Leeds really need another left-winger who enjoys cutting in with his right foot and carrying the ball? No. We have two that are maybe even more talented than Clarke, and one of them is better right now.

We definitely need a right-winger who can give us more balance, and it would also be fantastic to have a striker so that we don’t have to rely on Patrick Bamford in the future.
If Willy Gnonto had left, it would have been worthwhile to investigate Clarke.
