Brendan Rodgers absence from Celtic training revealed as boss and skipper Callum McGregor missing in action
Although Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers did not train with team captain Callum McGregor, the manager is still anticipated to be there for his Friday media appearances.
The Irishman was not there for the last practice before the crucial match against Hearts, according to Sky Sports reporter Mark Benstead. John Kennedy was in charge of the first squad at their Lennoxtown training facility. The winners, who defeated Motherwell 7-1 after coming from behind, are enjoying their victory.
Benstead said on Sky Sports: “A fascinating little anecdote about training. Brendan Rodgers is not in charge of this morning’s meeting. So far, John Kennedy is the one making the decisions. The manager of Celtic has not yet been seen. It’s time for us to talk.
We have an appointment to talk with him at noon, and I assume he will be en route. However, John Kennedy is currently in charge of this morning’s meeting.”
Daniel Kelly replaced Skipper McGregor during halftime. He addressed the reporters at full time, and it seemed that his absence from the Dens Park match was more due to a well-earned rest than an injury.
