Barry Ferguson claims that if Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland does participate in England’s Euro 2024 campaign, he may be headed for a summer transfer out.

In light of Butland’s outstanding performances, Gareth Southgate is thinking about calling up the goalkeeper for the Gers before Euro 2024, but

“He’s a certainty to make the next England squad and if Gareth Southgate doesn’t take him to the Euros this summer I’ll be very surprised,” the man wrote in a piece for the Daily Record on Friday, March 1.

The Englishman’s outstanding performances have earned him a call-up to the national team, but it may be difficult for the Light Blues to retain the 30-year-old in Glasgow after the current campaign ends.

Despite Nottingham Forest’s Premier League interest, Butland has maintained that he was never eager to leave Ibrox during the January transfer window. However, if significant offers come in during the summer transfer window, things may alter.

Though a lot might change in the coming months, Ferguson may have a valid concern that Rangers may not benefit as much from an international recall as they could from Butland and his career.
