East Belfast crash: Two police officers and a car driver in hospital
A two-vehicle collision in east Belfast has resulted in the hospitalisation of two police officers and the driver of another vehicle.
It took place on the Albertbridge Road on Friday little after 05:30 GMT.
The police patrol car was heading into Belfast’s downtown in response to an emergency complaint.
The injuries sustained by the police officers are not thought to be life-threatening. The other car’s driver, a man in his 50s, suffered severe damage to his legs.
According to the police, “initial first aid was provided at the scene” after the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
“I wish both our police officers and member of the public a speedy and full recovery from their injuries,” stated Detective Hakin.
Both cars have sustained significant damage.
