The Raiders’ Antonio Pierce has a message for quarterback Jayden Daniels.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the Las Vegas Raiders are in full force and have already met with several of the top quarterback prospects. According to an NFL Network article from Ian Rapoport on February 28, X, one of the first quarterbacks the organisation has visited with is former LSU standout and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.

The Raiders have been associated with Daniels on multiple occasions because head coach Antonio Pierce served as his recruiting assistant at Arizona State before to Daniels’ move to LSU. Pierce is intimately acquainted with the young quarterback and has nothing but praise for him.

“Jayden weighed 150 pounds and was drenched in water when I was hiring him. Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports that Pierce stated, “But I saw him as a winner,” during his media availability on February 28. “I noticed a really competitive guy. always seeking to disprove others. being questioned about his size and other physical and mental characteristics his entire life, and I believe all he’s accomplished is disproving people.”

Daniels proved that Pierce’s early evaluation of him was accurate as he became one of the top players in college football. Pierce will have to trade up to get him if he wants him because it is unlikely that he will go past the No. 3 pick in the draft.

Antonio Pierce on Locating a Franchise Quarterback

The previous season, the Raiders experienced serious quarterback problems. Although he played well towards the end of the season, 2023 fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell doesn’t seem to be a long-term starter.

Despite his defensive experience, Antonio Pierce is aware of the significance of selecting the proper quarterback. He expressed unequivocally the Raiders’ commitment to locating a top-tier franchise quarterback.

According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Pierce stated, “You don’t want to put a Band-Aid at that position.” “Dude, that’s old. We’ve seen enough of the Raiders in this organisation, I believe. And while Derek Carr was here for a number of years, there have been other one-stop shops both before and after him.

He went on, “You want the quarterback to be the face of your franchise.” “To be that dependable guy for the ensuing ten years.”

The Raiders’ issue is that most of the top quarterbacks will be undrafted by the time they select in the first round, at No. 13. Pierce isn’t scared to trade up, though, if necessary.

Pierce stated, “As you guys saw and witnessed, that’s my personality.” “I’m a driven individual.”

Although trading up could be costly, it’s difficult to place a value on a talented quarterback. It might mean the difference between winning the Super Bowl and not making it to the postseason.

The Las Vegas Raiders and Caleb Williams met.

The Raiders should consider Jayden Daniels over Blake Williams if they decide to trade up for a quarterback. The Chicago Bears don’t seem interested in moving down, and the former USC standout is almost definitely going to be the first overall choice in the draft.

Nevertheless, according to an NFL Network tweet from Ian Rapoport on February 28, X, the Raiders were one of the clubs that met with Williams.

While there’s nothing wrong with completing their research, it’s hard to imagine Williams playing in Las Vegas the next season.
